Projects without prototypes.

These projects and ideas do not include prototypes but have a lot of research and experimental backing to showcase their design. Below are some examples of game design documents and art submissions that I created while studying Game Design at university.

House Unrest

'House Unrest' was submitted for a third-year game design assessment within Brunel University. This one-page game design document had to be designed for a company within the gaming industry, and a specific platform (supplied in the assessment's briefing document.) I chose Supermassive games - creators of Until Dawn, - and augmented reality as the game platform. House Unrest was an original idea that I had been wanting to expand on for a while.

Submedia

Submedia was a concept designed for a third-year game design assessment. In this project, I had to choose from a list of companies from the brief and create a game designed using a certain ideology, which in this case was the anti-social effects of social media. I had to create a two-page pitch document explaining the concept, gameplay. mechanics and target market for the game, and how it links to the company that I am pitching to - Ninja Theory. I also created mock-ups of the main character, and how she would use each ability to progress through the game's narrative.

The second assessment in this module was to chose one of the games from assessment one (in my case, House Unrest and Submedia) and to expand on the idea by creating a briefing document. The briefing document explained that I needed to focus on one core area of games design that I am interested in, and I chose to write about narrative design. I think that narrative design is very important, especially in a game like Submedia which is driven by its storyline.

Various One-Page Designs

Abstract | Exploding Pigeons | Head, Heart & Health | The Interview

These one-page game design documents were created for a first-year assignment. I had to design four distinct games and explain them using only one A4 page.

Google VR Environment Test

This was a small environmental design that I created within Unity to test out how the Google Cardboard SDK would work on PC and when ported to an android phone. This test helped me plan out the level design and mechanics for my major solo project called The Observant
